I am curious if there are any current owners of LX 600’S that are trading in there 600’s for the 700 H , and if you are have you actually seen the LX 700 H in person or taken it for a test drive ?
Friday I actually took a 700 H overtrail for a test drive. It was the Overtrail model in earth with the Black interior. Beautiful vehicle. I really liked the Earth paint color. It looks better in person than in pictures or videos. I was on the fence trying to decide between Nori Green or earth, but after seeing the earth in person, I definitely like the Earth better. I am ok with the black interior, but I think I would prefer the stone interior more, although the black interior probably goes with the earth exterior better.
Things I did not like = 1) the cargo area with it being a 3 row version. I have never had my 600 cargo area filled upto the top, so I can get by with it, but I would rather have the 2 row.
2) Smaller fuel tank. I seriously doubt the 700 H will get 20 MPG average, as I have experience Toyota trucks and SUV hybrids and I am willing to bet the MPG’s will be no better than the non hybrid.
3) Curb weight = 6250 pounds. LX 600 = 5850 LBS. Fuel economy.
4) SHIFTER. I like the shifter in the 600 better.
What did I like about the 700 H better :
1) power. Very smooth.
2) I liked how it felt while driving, although I could feel the weight.
3) Looks. LOOKS AWESOME IN THE EARTH PAINT.
4) I like the triple Lockers better than a single locker.
5) skid plates.
6) Wheels and tires on the 700 H, although I have the same wheels on my LX 600 F sport with KO2’S .
7) I know there are other differences from a engineering standpoint and a off road standpoint that make the 700 H seem better.
8) All around capability and duel personality of the Overtrail model.
I do really like the 700 H Overtrail model that I test drove although I have to wonder if the extra power and off road ability is worth the reduction in fuel capacity and cargo area. For example in my 600 I have gone 385 miles on a tank of fuel and I honestly feel like the best I will do is 330-340 miles. And I can tell you that my 600 handled 14 inches of unplowed snow off roading no problem with just a Center Locker.
Just curious if anyone else has had any hands on experience with the 700 H coming from a LX 600.
