Confused about the seating layout

I am wondering if I am missing something regarding the seating lay out. It looks like there is no captain chair option for the second row, which would be extremely useful. Wonder if that will be an option down the road.

I see some Captains Chairs pictured here: https://www.lexus.com/models/LX-hybrid -- and they mention rear seat Captains Chairs as well.

INCOMPARABLE INDULGENCE

Experience a personal retreat designed to truly help you get away from it all. The interior of the LX comforts with hand-selected premium materials, including our open-pore wood trims, available front massaging seats and integrated cool box*. And for the ultimate in indulgence, the LX Ultra Luxury features reclining rear-seat captain’s chairs* with massage feature, right rear power-retractable ottoman* and personal table.

It seems like it should be an option but no luck on the configurator so far.

I'm confused. The Ultra Luxury configuration gives you captains chairs if that's what you are looking for?

I would like the overland edition, so hopefully my dealer can figure out how to get the configuration I am looking for.

If it's anything like the Lexus GX 550 or Land Cruiser, they won't be able to make those changes.... it was one of those things where you had to get the edition that offered it or you couldn't get it at all.

I'm not sure how hard it would be to buy the seats afterwards and put them in yourself with new brackets, etc... that might be possible.

Lexus info up on the website now.
Captains config only available in Ultra Luxury. Overtrail only available in 5 or 7 seat.

Dang, that's what I was afraid of. Thank you for the confirmation!

What I am trying to find out is if the rail set of the seats in the overland edition will support the captains chairs, as I will order the parts, and "customize" my overtrail. Have to do the winch and front bumper anyway...

I think this one of those things we'll have to wait until the vehicle is out to see... get a mechanic to take out the seats and look. If you find out for sure let us know, I'm sure other people want to know the same thing!

Talked to Lexus, looks like it will be difficult to do and the seat bolt patterns between the ultra luxury trim and every other trim is different for the middle (or back row). What is also weird is that the ultra trim seems to have an exclusive front seat option that can't be spec'd on any other trim either.

At least you were finally able to answer your question. Sucks that it won't be easily possible :(

Let's see what the folks at Dissent Offroad comeback with ;). According to Lexus the configurations also may be limited as the 700h just launched and Toyota wants to get additional feedback before allowing additional options.

I'll bet someone could make some adapter brackets as well. There's always a way!
