Experience the bolder side of flagship luxury. The LX Overtrail models are equipped with a host of proven upgrades designed for off-road driving* including rugged 33-inch all-terrain tires, a robust skid plate, and front and rear locking differentials. And with details that include a blacked-out grille, 18-inch wheels and dark exterior accents, this SUV is sure to make a powerful impression on any road—paved or not.

Lexus Overtrail Project
At the 2023 Tokyo Outdoor Show, Lexus introduced the “Overtrail Project,” an initiative that intends to inspire customers around the world to explore nature through refined adventures. The goal is to include more opportunities for Lexus customers in the future, including potential products, accessories, gear, and experiences. The addition of Overtrail as an available grade on the LX 700h falls under the umbrella of this initiative.

Overtrail Emboldens Off-Road Discovery
Building on the renowned off-road prowess of the LX, the Overtrail grade offers additional features and equipment to help customers revel in the exploration of the outdoors. It exudes a tough and rugged persona, too: offering exterior color Earth1 and, inside, Black or Stone Brown semi-aniline leather-trim on the seats and door panels with Stone Brown stitching and Black Open Pore wood accents on the center console and door panels.

In addition, Overtrail adds front and rear locking differentials, a 2,400W AC inverter, and off-road all-weather floor liners. The vehicle is adorned with 33-inch All-Terrain tires and 18-inch wheels, a front skid plate, and an appearance package, featuring a matte gray grille, black door handles, dark gray roof rails, dark chrome-finished window trim and bumper trim, and black overfenders.

The Overtrail grade is available on the LX 700h and can be equipped as a two or three-row configuration.

As a person that is looking for a bit more
Luxury than a GX, the LX 700H Overtrail might be a good option, however:
1. No EKDSS is a real letdown/disappointment
2. 20mph average, 1mpg more than a non hybrid 2024 is also a real letdown/disappointment
3. Really would have liked to see some interior upgrades from the 2024
I’ll wait to pass final judgement until I see and drive one but I’m thinking the 2025 LX700H Overtail a no go for me.

If I understand correctly, the 700h has its own version of EKDSS. They call it AVS (Adaptive Variable Suspension). In addition to that, it also has Active Height Control, which the GX doesn't. The link below has more information.

Do you think the gas mileage let down is mainly from extra weight?

I think that’s what they would say. I’m one of those people that thinks they could do better. My question is why aren’t they?

I’m not seeing any reference to disconnecting sway bars. Am I missing it?

Sorry, I was thinking more about the adaptive suspension adjusting between off-road and on-road performance. I have not seen anything about electronic disconnecting sway bars for the 700h.

Looks good to me. Could interior upgrades be done as DIY project potentially? May save money and time waiting for the next one to come out.

I have seen a lot of upgrades that makes this looks very good. I think they have done quite enough in making sure that buyers get the best deal for the money they are paying for this.
